The GEODES Software Engineering research group (geodes.iro.umontreal.ca) has 2 fully funded
PhD positions for research in the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering,
with an emphasis on Model Driven Engineering.

The research projects are related to the application of Software Engineering principles,
methodologies, technologies, and abstractions to the AI domain and vice versa.

Successful applicants will work with professors Houari Sahraoui and Michalis Famelis, as well as
the other members of the GEODES group. They will conduct research and be involved in every
step of the project and can work with our excellent team of graduate students. They are expected
to participate in the writing and the publication of scientific papers and the implementation of
research prototypes.

The general requirements for candidates are:

• An MSc in Computer Science or related areas.
• Strong background in software engineering.
• Strong programming skills and prior experience in working with actual AI systems will be highly regarded.
